   Secret Correspondence.

The secret correspondence with Patria orginated from different sources. A special committee was established at The Hague, which dealt with secret matters only. Nevertheless the various chambers, especially Amsterdam maintained the secret part of their correspondence. From these different sources, letters may be found in this section, which of course belong to the section secret council minutes nos. 737 - 761. Letters from the Cape of Good Hope are few.
