6   "Weesmeesteren" or Board of Commissioners for Orphans and the Poor House at Galle.
This is one of the oldest institutions of its kind in Ceylon. The list in no. 6290 shows that this institution functioned as early as March 1646, as the index shows files containing minutes of sessions of that period.
From the first document in no. 6291, it appears that the "Soldy - boekhouder" or Pay Accountant was Secretary of the Galle "Weeskamer" or Orphan House.
